Sing a New Song was Timothy Radcliffe’s first book, and, not surprisingly, has yet again sold out. Dominican Publications are glad to offer it afresh to so many who have been touched by his numerous subsequent books.
Here in this rich collection we taste the easy eloquence of a great writer and teacher. Radcliffe can mix an image of Jurassic Park with the symbolism of the Last Supper; he succeeds in outlining how human communities can be rebuilt on the foundation of truth, despite conflicts that inevitably occur. A balance between freedom and responsibility is achieved in the honesty and realism of one who has known the tension of decision-making. These pages outline an exciting project for all who seek spiritual wellbeing, at individual and community levels.
Born in 1945, Timothy Radcliffe entered the Dominican Order in 1964. After studies at Oxford and Paris, he worked first as a university chaplain in London and then spent eighteen years teaching theology at Oxford. He served as Master of the Order from 1992 to 2001, and has continued ever since to inspire in his addresses and retreats in all corners of the globe.
